Moise A. Khayrallah

Founder and Chairman of the Board

Dr. Khayrallah is a serial entrepreneur and investor in pharmaceutical drug development and biotechnology. He acquired his experience over a 35-year period in diverse pharmaceutical environments including large pharmaceutical, contract research, and biotechnology companies, such as Emergo Therapeutics Inc., QuatroBio, LLC, Aerial BioPharma, LLC, and Neuronex Inc.

He holds a Ph.D. degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the American University of Beirut.

Dr. Khayrallah is also actively involved with the entrepreneurial and non-profit networks in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina and beyond. He currently serves as the Honorary Consul for Lebanon in NC, a position that allows him to assist the Lebanese American community and represent its interests in Lebanon and the US. In 2014 he endowed the Moise A. Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies at North Carolina State University, the first center of its kind outside of Lebanon. The Center is the first endowed center in NC State’s history and the largest gift to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Center seeks to research, document, and present the history of the worldwide Lebanese diaspora through an online archive, documentaries and exhibitions, lectures and talks, and the annual Khayrallah Prize that honors original literary and artistic works focused on the diaspora experience inside or outside Lebanon.

Dr. Khayrallah is a current or recent member of several Boards and advisory committees including: Member, Board of Trustees of the Lebanese American University (LAU); Member, International Advisory Council of the American University of Beirut (AUB); Member, Board of Directors of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center; Former Chair, Board of Directors of Carolina Ballet; Former Chair, Board of Directors of Go Global NC; Member, Blackstone Entrepreneurs network; Member, UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor’s Philanthropic Council responsible for fundraising for the UNC Campaign for Carolina; and Member, UNC School of Education Board of Visitors. At the UNC School of Education, he created the Moise A. Khayrallah Innovation Fund that supports the Master of Arts in Educational Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (MEITE) program. This pioneering program combines learning science, learning technologies and entrepreneurship to promote innovation in teaching and learning, and in the marketplace. For the past four years, the fund has granted multiple annual fellowships to promising students and assisted the program administrators expand its reach. Dr. Khayrallah also seeks to assist multicultural and global programs in their efforts to bring people together and highlight cultural commonalities. He supports NC educational, cultural, and artistic organizations, as well as charitable organizations in NC and overseas.
