Jouzour
Reconnecting the Diaspora with Lebanon
Jouzour is Lebanon & Beyond’s inaugural program, designed to bring young adults from the Lebanese diaspora back to their homeland for a 5-6 week immersive experience. Through service projects, cultural exploration, and educational seminars, participants will reconnect with Lebanon in meaningful ways while building lasting relationships with their peers.
Program Overview
Global Connections
Jouzour brings together 30 young adults from the worldwide Lebanese diaspora for a transformative experience in Lebanon. Participants will represent five major regions: Africa, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.
Local Partnerships
Participants will collaborate with Lebanese NGOs and institutions to contribute to community projects across the country.
Cultural Immersion
Experience Lebanon’s rich culture through hands-on activities, guided tours, and interactions with local communities.
What to Expect

Participants will engage in approximately 10 service projects across Lebanon, working with local organizations in areas such as:
Environmental conservation
Historical preservation
Sustainable agriculture
Human rights education
Educational support in schools

Jouzour will partner with leading universities such as AUB, LAU, and UOB to offer seminars on Lebanese history, culture, and ecology.

Old Beirut, Raoucheh
Byblos & Batroun

Participant Profile Criteria
To apply for Jouzour, participants must meet the following criteria
Age: 20-28 years old
Lebanese Origin: At least one parent, grandparent, or lineage connection to Lebanon
Residency: Must have lived outside Lebanon for over 15 years
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus but not required)
Engagement: Must show an active interest in Lebanon through previous visits, community involvement, or education
Application Process
Applications open Winter 2024.
Participants can apply through local Lebanese students, community, and cultural organizations worldwide.
Full or partial scholarships are available based on merit and financial need.
